1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its affordable price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is auto vacuum and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. You'll have a the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.
For instance, you can ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year it comes with an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can alter its path in a way that is automatic and clean around them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.
The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is extremely quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or in a series. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

This utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a great method of keeping your home clean for longer.
There's a wealth of options available that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app or direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing however it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
